WHAT IS NOUN?
A noun is a word which is used as the name of anything.It may be the name of a place, thing, person, country, city, river, town, animal, etc. For examples; pen, book, cat, dog, boy, girl, house, bicycle, John, London, etc.
TYPES OF NOUNS
There are basically five types of nouns which are :-

- Common Nouns
- Proper Nouns
- Abstract Nouns
- Concrete Nouns
- Collective Nouns
Nouns are also divided into two categories which are (a) countable nouns and (b) uncountable nouns. Okay guys, you can look at the picture below.
*NOUNS THAT CAN BE BOTH COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE
Countable and uncountable noun can be closely related too. For example, light. i) There are two lights in our bedroom. (countable) ii)Close the curtain! There’s too much light. (uncountable) See guys, light is a noun that can be both countable and uncountable. Depends on the way you use it in a sentence. Sometimes, the same noun can be countable and uncountable, often with a change of meaning. |
*COUNTABLE NOUN
Countable nouns are easy to recognize. They are things that we can count. For example: “pen”. We can count pens. We can have one, two, three or more pens. Here are some more countable nouns:
Uncountable nouns are substances, concepts etc that we cannot divide into separate elements. We cannot “count” them. For example, we cannot count “milk”. We can count “bottles of milk” or “litres of milk”, but we cannot count “milk” itself. Here are some more uncountable nouns:
